Educator

Heather received her bachelor’s in psychology and masters in organizational change and leadership at Columbia College, Columbia, SC where she also teaches death and dying for the Child and Family Studies program. She is a graduate and 2018 valedictorian of the International Cemetery, Crematory, and Funeral Directors Association University and a member of the Association for Death Education and Counseling organization. She is a certified Grief Recovery Specialist and a dementia dialogs facilitator.

Not only has Heather has taught on a number of topics related to end-of-life decisions, cemetery planning, and understanding dementia, she also facilitates seminars and panel discussions, conducted training seminars, and presented to a variety organizations and audiences. The most recent topics were “Grief in the Workplace,” “How to Downsize and Maintain Family Legacy,” “Planning for a Good Death,” “Caregiver Burnout,” and “Understanding End-of-Life Choices.”
